Carbon - it's time to get started

Omacast Ltd has been formed by farmers for farmers, to accurately measure, map and interpret what's really going on in their soil.

Utilising the latest technology, soil analysis and accredited laboratories, it is possible to realise a baseline measurement of the current carbon stocks on your farm.

This key step on your pathway to making the most of your carbon assets can then be built upon as we help you fully understand the value of your carbon.  Omacast can then guide you through small changes in farming practice that directly influence carbon capture and soil health.

Effecting change simply by measuring and quantifying

Understanding physical soil and land use variability provides a baseline for soil carbon measurement.

Quantifying the levels of variability in the physical aspects of the soil allows us to make critical improvements in the accuracy and precision of soil sampling. Together we can achieve this by:

  • Physically mapping the field boundary
  • Measuring soil variability to create management zones through Electronic Conductivity Scanning
  • Layering current land use over the soil scanning data to identify sampling zones within each field
  • Carrying out accurate soil sampling (0-30cm & 30-60cm) within identified zones
